And it is Rallye Monte Carlo Historique. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. Integrales, Integrales everywhere. Do you like Martini livery? I thought so. It's on about 30% of the cars. Want to see 8 Stratos parked next to each other? How about a Gulf liveried 924—check. Alpine A110? Have a few! Want to hear all these cars blast down a controlled road intentionally trying to blow your ears off? Wow. Just wow. This was worth infinity shitty bus rides. I saw so many incredible classics, and to see them and HEAR them drive—I think this should be in any jalop's bucket list.
When I entered the Piazza San Carlo and saw everything before me, I was stunned. 911s to my right, Lancias to my left. I literally spun around like a gaping fool trying to take it all in. These rally cars are so much cooler than something you might see at a concours. I took a bunch of pictures, but unfortunately they're on an SD card and I don't have my computer, so those will have to wait.
I'll do a more in depth writeup later; this is just me venting the joy I'm overcome with to fellow gearheads. I was so lucky to be able to do this, and I hope that some of you can be as well. Maybe for those that go to more motor sporting events than I do it wouldn't be as moving, but this is honestly one of the greatest events I've ever been to.
I also offered all the cash in my wallet to one of the street organizers for her vest, but she declined. I took this instead:
and here's a little treat for those who read all the way to the end:
Yes, that's a Volvo P1800 on the right edge of the picture. I learned what a Volvo Amazon is today!
Have a great day Oppo, I know I did.

I'm afraid that isn't a Volvo P1800, it's a Volvo 121/Amazon.
P1800 front
121/Amazon

Thanks, corrected. I think there was a P1800 there though.

No worries, both cars are great in there own right. The Amazon is a good rally car and the British built P1800 by Jensen Motors (though suffered from 'build quality' problems) and the later Swedish built P1800s ('S' for Sverige=Sweden) are things of beauty.
